I was lucky, I passed the LPDP selection test this June 2025. After becoming LPDP Awardee, we were told that we had two options, which was to get an IELTS score by ourselves or follow the LPDP program. I chose the LPDP program.
For the program, the LPDP provides 4 universities in different cities in Java island as the place where we will spend 4 to 6 months learning English. In my mind I chose Jakarta, definitely because Jakarta is not strange for me, I spent 5 years there to get a bachelor's degree.
I also prayed and wished that I would be assigned to Jakarta. Turns out, yeah my prayer got answered, since August I have been studying in Depok and will continue until maybe 2 or 4 months later.
I have a high target for the IELTS test result. You know, 8.0 at least. I know that is too much, but I think 6 months is a long enough time. I guess I can make it.
At the beginning I thought my English capability was very good, but after taking a test, well I guess I need more time to learn, especially Grammar and memorize more vocabularies.
I believe this is a blessing to get free professional English lessons from the University of Indonesia in Depok with amazing lectures. I mean, I'm a Civil Engineer not an English teacher, but I can gain incredible competence in English too.
