Wandae, Gate Of Moni Land

a School in Jae village, Wandae
Moni is one of Papuan tribe, most of Moni People live in Intan Jaya regency of Papua Island. They live next to Mee, Wolani, Dani, Dem and Damal tribe, they’re close tribe, legend often said people of Mee and Moni may not intermarried because their ancestor are a family. But I’m not gonna talk about myth, I’ll talk about Wandae.

Wandae is a district in Intan Jaya regency. Before, people know Wandae as Homeyo, but after landslide 1984 all government activities moved to Pogapa or nowday people call it Homeyo. So, Wandae is old Homeyo and Pogapa is new Homeyo.
Morning of Kemandoga Valley
Wandae located at Kemandoga Valley, when missionary from CMAlliance came, they start their mission here. Missionary bring new hope to Moni people, like a virus, gospel been tranfer to all part of Migani land fastly and many of them follow Chritianity and many other follow Chatolicism.

The reason I give “Wandae, Gate Of Migani Land” as title is because for long time since the beginning of human existence, people of Moni live with their own style, which modern time use "traditional" as the term. They are closed to other world, close to modern world. But gospel came and open the gate “Wandae” and now Moni people can connect to world.

If you ever read book "Weak Thing In Moni Land: The Story of Bill and Gracie Cuts" or in Bahasa "Yang Lemah di Tanah Moni" or book by Benny Makes Pigai, SE, Me "Kisah Nyata Sang Pendobrak Dari Tanah Moni" of course you know gentlemen like Kiguabuy Zagani, Isa Sabo Zagani, Dugudugu Zagani, Naginabega Zagani and Jeoni Bagau, all of them lived here in Wandae district. Many famous from Wandae are like Gad Zagani, Yohanes Zagani, Jacob Nagapa, Pastor Daniel Bagau, Manfret and Yafet Abugau and others, they are Wandae inhabitant too. This is the reason I give Wandae title as "Gate of Moni Land" , but of course the first reason is gospel came first here.
