Travel to Wandae

These Moni men just arrived at Gepelo the end of Miganiland

On my previous article "Wandae Gate of Moni/Migani Land", we already know little bit of about this district. Now I wanna tell you how to get there.

If you're from other country, first thing You must go to Indonesia, and then fly to Timika or Nabire regency Province of Papua. There is a small airport at Wandae but there's no schedule of any airplane company to going there, they only fly there if rented by government. So you must go to Sugapa Intan Jaya then walk to Wandae, if you're strong enough, you can make it.

But, I have better suggestion. you can go there via Enarotali-Paniai. How?

Beautiful Morning Paniai

From Nabire, there many public transportation which I mean car available to get you to Enarotali. You only need to pay around Rp.300.000.

The scenery is great, you gonna like it. If you go with yours or your friend car, you can stop anywhere you like and enjoy the scenery or river to swim little bit :).

My company always start at 9 am, your driver is awesome. We can get to Enaro faster but we always choose to arrive at early morning, so we stop at Kilo100 about a hour to get some dinner at 12.00 am. We continue at 1 pm, slowly until we reach Enarotali at morning around 5 pm.

If you get here, its mean you're in Paniai Gate

We park the car at some friend's house. Then we go near Paniai lake get some boat and sail to Pasir Putih.

Road still on work, we only got to Magataga with motorcycle, people call it ojek. Ojek mean people who get you to your destination with their motorcycle and you pay them.

Sometime motorcycle engine got trouble

After arrived at Magataga, we walked. Its take enough time but not so long if you compare to via Sugapa.

Its mountain area, its felt like my calf going to explode and knees broke. For sure, for long time I like in Metropolitan city like Jakarta.

At the end we reach our destination Wandae.

Its cool, it isn't cold. Temperature is perfect, its not hot like Nabire, but itsnt so cold like Sugapa, its cool, I still can swim or get some bath in morning and my body not chills.

There many river, mountain everywhere. Its great.

Here, WANDAE :)

If you meet Moni you can greet them by saying "Amakane" or if you meet more than one man, yous simply say "Amakanie". Amakane mean many things, its can mean Thank you, respect, honour, or sorry.
